The Time of Our Singing wins World Premiere of the Year 2021

La Monnaie/De Munt‘s production of Kris De Foort‘s opera The Time of Our Singing has won the International Opera Award for World Premiere of the Year 2021!

I enjoy the adventure of bringing new theatrical works to the stage, but returning to Belgian National Opera to conduct The Time of Our Singing, with its highly relevant cultural commentary was a unique and particularly rewarding experience.  I‘ll be conducting the first revival in Switzerland at the Theater St. Gallen in March of next year, and other productions are in the works.
