I often find myself fascinated by the creative work that goes into staging a store front. Of course the primary purpose of this kind of art is to entice passers-by to stop and look, then ideally enter to make a purchase, but many window dressers go the extra mile to create something truly arresting. Sometimes restraint and good taste are their allies, failing which, throwing fistfuls of eye candy at customers can also work a treat! This gallery shares a few of my favourite shop windows of late – the ones that really made me look! These pictures were all taken through the glass, hence the occasional reflections one would otherwise avoid. I preserved these reflections where they occured, because they reminded me that when we look at things that fascinate us…we automatically see a part of ourselves as well.
