New Horizon

I’m thrilled to share that The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra has extended my contract as Music Director for four more years, ushering us into the orchestra’s 100th anniversary season.

From the moment I arrived in Charlotte, I felt welcomed in a way that was immediate and genuine. The musicians bring curiosity, courage and spontaneous artistry to every project, and our audiences listen with a generosity that makes performing here a joy. Working with people you like, respect, and trust is a gift — and that’s exactly what I’ve found in Charlotte. Indeed, the city, its orchestra, and community have become a second home to me, and I’m deeply grateful for the trust and support that make this next chapter possible.

Looking ahead, I’m energized by the creative journey before us—bold programming, new initiatives, and ever deepening community engagement, especially around the ways music can foster connection and well‑being. This extended trajectory gives us the room to imagine, to grow, and to build with intention.

Thanks to the entire CSO family for believing in our shared future. I can’t wait for what comes next — and I’m honored to experience it with all of you.
